The sunroom is an ideal place to enjoy the best of both the indoors and outdoors while keeping you comfortable. Sunrooms are a great way to entertain without worrying about the weather. This is a place where you can spend time with family and friends and one that you must take good care of.

It is important that this part of your house receives the proper maintenance it needs. One of the things you can do to ensure that your sunrooms stays looking its very best is to clean it at least once a year to avoid the glass getting dirty or even ruined from poor maintenance.

At BETHEL Maintenance safety and customer satisfaction is our number one concern.

Here are some things to consider before you try to clean your sunrooms.

Safety First

Consider this. If you do not know how to properly use ladders you could damage your windows. If your ladders are not properly fixed on the proper surfer, you can damage or break the glass. This could cause the ladder to then become unstable and for you to fall and injure yourself.

Some sunrooms not only have lots of glass as part of the walls but as part of the ceiling as well. You should never step onto the glass ceiling of a sunroom. The glass could break. Even if your sunroom uses a glass alternative, still do not step on it. You need a professional to do this type of work. In some cases, scaffolding is needed to reach high areas or some type of water fed pole system. This is the safest method.

Know your manufacturer’s recommendations

Sunrooms come in different materials and could have unique cleaning requirements.

Don’t ignore leaks! A leak could allow moisture into your sunroom. Moisture plus warmth is the recipe for mold, which can be a serious health hazard. Address leaks right away to avoid a mold problem.

Cleaning Process

It is important to know how to clean your glass, what equipment to use and special cleaning agents. Depending on the condition of the glass, a mop, sponge and warm soapy water to wash the glass and frames around your windows will suffice. However, sometimes you may need to look at using a special cleaning solution to get rid of hard water stains on your glass.  After cleaning, your windows need to dry. Using a squeegee to get the windows completely dry without water spots is the best method.  TO REQUEST A FREE QUOTE CONTACT US  or call us at              (301) 401-4448.
